Chris + Malia | October 4, 2025
Some weddings feel like a celebration of not just two people—but two families, two legacies, and a whole lot of love rooted in something deeper. That was exactly the case with Chris and Malia.
Surrounded by their families, many of whom were their bridal party, Chris and Malia tied the knot in a sacred and joy-filled celebration of marriage—steeped in their Catholic faith and overflowing with heartfelt moments.
As a Kansas City wedding photographer, I get to witness a lot of beautiful weddings—but few are as moving or as family-centered as this one.
Prep
From the moment I arrived, it was clear this day would be something special. Many of the bridesmaids and groomsmen were siblings of the bride and groom, which gave the morning a warm, familiar rhythm—easy laughter, happy tears, and meaningful quiet moments.
Chris and Malia chose not to see each other before the ceremony, and that choice made the anticipation almost tangible. The moment Malia stepped into the aisle at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Bendena, Kansas, Chris was overcome with emotion—and so was her father, Todd. (honestly, we were all tearing up a little)
Ceremony
Their ceremony wasn’t just beautiful—it was holy. Inside the walls of St. Benedict’s, the couple exchanged vows not only with each other, but in covenant before God, their church, and the families who shaped them.
As the final Dulac sister to marry, Malia’s walk down the aisle felt like a passing of the torch. Chris’s reaction? Pure awe. Their Catholic faith was woven throughout every part of the Mass—from the Scripture readings and prayers to the Eucharist—and it gave the entire day a reverence that was felt by every guest present.
The newlyweds exited the church to a sea of bubbles and cheers—a lighthearted and joyful exclamation point to such a powerful ceremony.
Reception
The celebration continued at the Atchison Event Center, one of the most loved Atchison, KS wedding event spaces for good reason. It was the perfect backdrop for dinner, heartfelt speeches, and plenty of dancing.
The toasts were rich with memories and emotion, painting a picture of Chris and Malia’s relationship through the eyes of those who know them best. There were misty-eyed first dances—including Malia and her dad Todd again—and then came the real party: dancing galore. Every time I thought the dance floor might slow down, a new song brought even more guests out. (Turns out this crew can Wobble and Cupid Shuffle with the best of them.)
Happily Ever After
Chris and Malia’s wedding wasn’t just a party—it was a statement of legacy, love, and deep-rooted faith. It was about honoring tradition while stepping boldly into the future. It was about family. About covenant. About joy that doesn’t fade after the last dance.
Chris and Malia, thank you for trusting me to capture such a sacred and emotional day. Your love is genuine, grounded, and a beautiful reflection of the life you’re building together. May your marriage continue to grow in grace and joy!
