Honestly, these two couldn’t have planned a better kick-off to married life—even if they tried. As a Kansas City wedding photographer, these are the kinds of days I live for—filled with personal touches, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
Wedding Prep
Danny and Marie kicked off their big day surrounded by their closest people, keeping things stress-free from the start. Their wedding party looked incredible in sage green dresses and timeless black suits—setting the tone for their warm, earthy color palette of sage, rust, tan, and white.
Ceremony
Danny and Marie tied the knot at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Danny’s family’s home parish. It doesn’t get much more personal than having your uncle officiate your wedding! Sunlight filled the space as they exchanged vows surrounded by family and friends.
A personal touch that stuck with me was a chair that was lovingly saved in honor of a bridesmaid gone too soon, a reminder of just how much heart these two poured into their day.
PS: Whether you’re planning your wedding at a historic church or a modern Kansas City wedding event space, having your people by your side is what makes it unforgettable.
Party Bus
Blue Skies, Chicken Nuggets, and… a Fake Arrest?
After their I do’s, Danny and Marie and the whole wedding party climbed aboard the party bus to kick off the celebration. But before heading to their Lenexa wedding event space, they made a quick—and legendary—pit stop: Chick-fil-A.
While they were grabbing lunch inside, the wedding party noticed a police team eating nearby. Naturally, they couldn’t pass up the opportunity for a little fun. They asked if they’d be willing to fake arrest the bride for a quick photo-op. Without skipping a beat, the officers jumped right in on the joke, handcuffs and all. Don’t worry though—Marie is still an upstanding citizen with a clean record… but she’ll definitely be telling that story for years to come!
With chicken nugs in hand and laughter filling the bus, the crew rolled on toward the National WWI Museum and Memorial for wedding photos, then after a quick stop at a local Kansas City favorite, QuikTrip, they headed to the Father Quigley Center at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Lenexa, KS, ready to take the party to the next level.
Reception
The celebration continued at the Father Quigley Center at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, an Catholic event space that felt like the perfect backdrop for the party these two deserved. Guests were greeted with tables decked out with disposable cameras, encouraging everyone to capture their own behind-the-scenes memories.
From Marie’s first dance with her mom to Danny’s brother roasting him (lovingly, of course) in a hilarious toast, the night was full of unforgettable moments. DJ (by Your Unforgettable) kept the dance floor packed—proving once again that Kansas City knows how to throw a party!
Happily Ever After & The Start of Something Big
Working with Danny and Marie was an absolute joy. From timeline help to portrait location scouting, it was an honor to serve them as their Kansas City wedding photographer. They trusted me to help make the day flow smoothly, so they could stay fully present with their people—and that’s exactly what we did.
Danny and Marie, here’s to a lifetime of laughter, love, and adventures together. Your day was pure magic, and I’m so grateful to have been part of it.
Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness!
